Pastry Chef Courtney Weyl of wd~50 - Biography

A Los Angeles native, Courtney Weyl knew what she wanted early on in life: to master the sweet side of the kitchen. In pursuit of her dream, she earned a culinary degree at The Culinary Institute of America at Greystone in Saint Helena, California. During and after her time at the CIA, Weyl spent years working in top kitchens across the state, including Spago Beverly Hills and Cyrus.
This time in pursuit of more opportunities on the opposite coast, Weyl moved to New York. Honing and refining her skills, she hopped from kitchen to kitchen in Manhattan, starting at Restaurant Daniel as a pastry extern to Gotham Bar and Grill. She is currently a pastry cook at Wylie Dufresne’s wd~50 (currently in its final months of service, closing in November 2014), wowing Manhattanites with forward-thinking and witty desserts.
