Great minds and palates will spark October 21, marking the first day of SIAL 2012 at the Parc des Expositions de Paris-Nord Villepinte in France. Fifteen miles outside of Paris, this sweeping and sensory five-day "Global Food Marketplace" hosts 600 companies and 140,000 buyers from the food and agriculture industries. The event serves as a gateway to spur further growth through networking with top professionals, interaction between catering and retail shops, and tastings from the best and brightest culinary stars.

This year's focus is innovation. Visitors will be wined and dined with the latest products from across the globe and stand-out presenters will be acknowledged through SIAL Innovation awards, the Disney-SIAL award, Intermarche Selection, and SIAL D'Or awards. Guests from hundreds of countries will explore 19 distinctive product categories ranging from frozen foods, cured meats, fruits and vegetables to wine, health products and food supplements.

The SIAL group is also making an effort to go green for the big event, pledging to recycle organic wastes. There is also a plan in place donate excess product to the French Red Cross at Seine-Sant- Denis, creating a more tasty and responsible learning experience for all.
