2006 Connecticut Restaurant And Lodging Show Attracts 5,700 To Connecticut Conve
Over 5,700 people gathered at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford on October 23-24 for the 2006 Connecticut Restaurant and Lodging Show. The show presented every facet of the hospitality industry including food and beverage, technology, equipment, dicor and supplies. All of the attendees had the opportunity to meet with manufacturers, distributors and suppliers as well as watch live demonstrations, attend seminars and sample new products.
The 2006 show offered some exciting events, including a special appearance and book signing by renowned chef, Jasper White. On October 24th, Senator Joe Lieberman attended the event and gave a much anticipated keynote address on the show floor.
"The reason attendees go to these shows is to see new products, meet with vendors, and network with peers. The show was a wonderful opportunity to get a lot of things done in a short period of time", said CEO of Max Restaurant Group, Richard Rosenthal.
Said Jeff Reszetylo, Vice President of the 2006 Connecticut Restaurant and Lodging Show: "This year was a huge success. We had a great turnout and really wonderful exhibitors. Next year's event already promises to deliver even more!"
The exhibit hall opened on Monday, October 24 at 11 a.m. with more than 200 companies. Thousands of buyers walked the exhibit hall until 6:00 p.m. on Monday and then again from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday.
For the second consecutive year, the two-day Education Program was sponsored by the Connecticut Culinary Institute. Restaurant and hotel business professionals answered questions and offered solutions to day-to-day hotel and restaurant management issues.
Simon Flynn, President of Connecticut Restaurant Association said, "We continue to be amazed by the amount of enthusiasm that people in the hospitality industry bring to the show. The two-day event gave everyone the opportunity to look at innovative ideas, be educated on various subjects, and network all in one show."
Culinary competitions, sponsored by the Connecticut Chefs Association, were also in the line up, including ice carving and cake/sugar competitions each featuring both professional and novice participants as they showcased their talents and displayed their final works of art.
Booth selection for the 2007 event, taking place October 15-16, at Connecticut Convention Center, has begun. Contact Jeff Reszetylo at 203-925-6888 or jeffr@ctrlshow.com for availability.
