                        STARCHEFS.COM ANNOUNCES 2015 BOSTON RISING STARS AWARD WINNERS
                                       Boston Chefs to Shine Bright at Tasting Gala on April 16, 2015


Monday, March 16, 2015 – StarChefs.com, the award-winning restaurant industry trends magazine, announces its 2015 Boston Rising Stars Awards, honoring up-and-coming chefs and other culinary professionals, who represent the vanguard of the contemporary American dining scene.  Over the course of six months, the StarChefs.com team visited more than 100 chefs, pastry chefs, bartenders, sommeliers, and artisans in greater Boston.

“The Boston dining and drinking scene is expanding beyond the city center and Cambridge. Now,  you can have dim sum-style mezze, award-winning cocktails, and killer large format dinners in places like Somerville, Newton, and as far as Woburn,” said Will Blunt, Managing Editor of StarChefs.com

The winners will be showcased at the StarChefs.com Rising Stars Gala on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at the Colonnade Hotel, beginning with an awards ceremony at 6:30pm and followed by a tasting gala from 7pm to 9:30pm. The walk-around tasting gala will give attendees the opportunity to experience 16 of Boston’s most exciting restaurants with beverage pairings and cocktails by the winning sommeliers and bartenders, in one location for one night only.

“While much of the country struggles to nurture—let alone celebrate—women in the restaurant industry, Boston and its leading female chefs, including Lydia Shire, Barbara Lynch, Jody Adams, Ana Sortun, and Susan Regis, have worked for years to establish the city as place where women chefs can flourish and lead,” said Antoinette Bruno, Editor-in-Chief of StarChefs.com.

General Admission is $95 per person. VIP tickets are $125 and include a private VIP reception with a Cava tasting and caviar, beginning at 5:45pm.

A portion of the evening’s proceeds will go to Boston Public Market, a year-round, self-sustaining market, where 40 farmers, fishermen, and food producers from Massachusetts and New England will offer fresh, local food and an opportunity to taste, buy, and understand what our region has to offer.  The Boston Public Market will be the only locally sourced market of its kind in the United States.
