31 West Brings The Market To The Table- The New Weekly Farmers Market Dinner

In a region renowned for its bountiful produce, its no wonder that locally produced food and wine takes center stage when it comes to culinary experiences at 31 West, the new restaurant in downtown Santa Barbara's Hotel Andalucma. Beginning May 24th, every Tuesday night the restaurant will feature a three-course pre-fixe dinner menu for $28, showcasing an ingredient selected that day from the State Street Farmers Market, paired with two premium local wines, which will be offered at retail prices.

Executive Chef Michael Reardon will explore the farmers market each week to find those hidden treasures such as exotic locally grown Golden, Bull's Blood, Chioggia, Forono, and Red Ace beets, sweet Touchon carrots, subtle green garlic and delicious fava beans to star in his innovative recipes. Michael has forged alliances with local growers including Fairview Gardens and Coleman Farms who are dedicated to bringing the finest possible quality and taste to market.

The first dinner on Tuesday Night May 24th will focus on figs, as Michael has learned the first crop of the season is due to arrive at the Farmers Market that day. Local meat, poultry and seafood combined with the markets best will enhance and define the mouthwatering menus.

"I want to show my support of the dynamic between the chef, the local farmers and winemakers and the community", says Reardon. "The quality of locally grown harvests available here in Santa Barbara is world class, and I am excited to present these Tuesday night Farmers Market Dinners.

Two premium local wines will be featured each Tuesday and will be offered both by the bottle and the glass at retail price.

Price for the three-course dinner is $28 per person excluding beverages, tax and tip. 31 West restaurant hours are 5:30- 10:00pm. To contact the restaurant directly, please call 805 897 9100. Reservations are recommended.
