5 Wines From Chile Take Top Honors At Decanter Awards

Five Chilean wines shined at the 2012 Decanter World Wine Awards presented in London. International category honors went to Vina San Pedro for their 1865 Single Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2011, Casas del Bosque for their 2010 Late Harvest Riesling, Undurraga's T. H. Pinot Noir 2010, the Alta Tierra Syrah Reserva 2009 from Vina Falernia, and the Leyda Reserva Syrah 2010.

"Chile has won more international trophies than any other New World country and second only to France in the medal table. Out of 14,210 wines, 28 were given the highest accolade in the international trophy, Chile scooped 5, second only to France and 3 of the wines came from one region in Chile, Leyda", said Sarah Kemp Publishing Director of Decanter Magazine.

"Leyda Valley has rapidly emerged as one of the leading cool climate regions in Chile producing world class Sauvignon Blancs and Pinot Noirs" said Lori Tieszen, Executive Director of Wines of Chile USA.
