BRINGS BIG CITY DINING TO THE COUNTRY
NEWTOWN, PA - Entrepreneur Brian Haveson and his wife Tammy, are pleased to announce the opening of 552 Restaurant, an inviting restaurant and bar with a gorgeous outdoor patio, located at 552 Washington Crossing Road, in historic Bucks County. The delectable menu of contemporary American cuisine, created by esteemed chef Michael Kanter, offers guests a sophisticated dining experience in the tranquil and picturesque countryside, whether seated indoors or out under the stars.
"With this restaurant, we're offering a level of dining that's missing from this area," says Haveson, a Newtown native. "We're confident that 552 will be a true destination for discerning foodies and casual gourmands."
At 552 Restaurant, Kanter has developed an exciting, seafood-centric menu, which includes: Surf and Turf Carpaccio, lobster and beef tenderloin with seasoned herbed-lemon vinaigrette, hearts of palm salad and micro arugula; Goat Cheese Ravioli, with confit red beets and truffle vinaigrette; Three Way Tuna, Asian tartare, smoke ceviche in a tomato vinaigrette and seared over mango chutney; Roast Diver Scallops, with tomato salsa, braised short rib ravioli and red wine sauce; Beef Tenderloin, with sautied spinach, baby vegetables, dauphinoise potatoes and horseradish sauce; and Smoked Muscovy Duck, with roasted figs, braised Belgian endive and truffle sauce. Guests can also enjoy a raw bar, which includes: East Coast and West Coast Oysters; Crab and Shrimp Cocktails; Littleneck Clams; and Steamed Lobster. Prices range from $8 to $13 for appetizers, $18 to $34 for entrees.
Kanter, a classically trained chef with more than 15 years experience, learned first-hand the techniques and rich traditions of French cuisine, while working his way up through the ranks in some of the area's top restaurants. After a lengthy term at Philadelphia's Le Bec-Fin, Kanter went on to accept Executive Chef positions at Philadelphia's dearly missed Blue Angel and Chester County's Dilworthtown Inn.
To compliment Kanter's menu, general manager Michael Sanders, has developed a superb wine list of select varietals offering a full range of choices for every wine lover. Restaurant 522 also offers guests a fine selection of signature cocktails and choice beers.
Located halfway between New York and Philadelphia, and a mere stone's throw from the fabled site where General George Washington lead his troops across the frigid Delaware River, 552 Restaurant resides in a 10,000 square foot historic farmhouse, situated on a gorgeously landscaped, 15 acre plot.
The restaurant's spacious outdoor patio, gazebo and bar accommodate up to 100 guests for a deluxe al fresco dining experience. Inside, 552 Restaurant features a handsome bar and lounge, with deep red walls, dark wood floors, cozy sofas and plush ottomans. A fireplace creates a relaxed ambiance where guests can sample and share selections from the special bar menu or simply enjoy wine and cocktails before or after dinner. The menu includes: Pan Seared Tuna Tartare, with smoked tomato, garlic and chili sauce; Lobster Roll, with curry mayonnaise, dried cherries, organic pea tops served on a potato bun; and Tenderloin Sandwich, with blue cheese and tomato confit.
