Trafalgar, IN, October 7, 2002Sharon ( Sherrie) ( SKY) Yarling CEO of Hickoryworks Inc. AKA www.hickoryworks.com. Announced the celebration of a decade of being the WORLDS ORIGINAL and ONLY Producer of Shagbark HICKORY Syrup. Founded in 1992 Hickoryworks began sending samples of their Hickory syrup to white tablecloth gourmet restaurants through out the Midwest. This unique condiment has become a mainstay in the menu flow of over 150 gourmet restaurants throughout the United States.
Hickoryworks Syrups, Are made using an extract from the BARK of the trees, which now include a syrup that is made from the bark of Indianas own state tree, the TULIP POPLAR. Chefs have been creating unique dishes using both of their syrups. As a marinade with orange juice for duck, with bourbon as a marinade for ribs ( Jula Childs ) favorite , French fried sweet potatoes. The fledging company has received local and national publicity from the likes of, Taste of Home, Midwest Living, Gourmet Magazine, and recently in the periodical PRIME TIMES,(if You happen to be over 50) .
Their latest creation, to be released in mid August is , Brown County Gourmet BS a unique Barbeque Sauce laced with their own HICKORY SYRUP.
