ADVISORY COMMITTEE ON SMALL FARMS TO HOLD MEETING AUG. 22-24

USDA's Advisory Committee on Small Farms will hold a meeting August 22-24 at the Hilton Sacramento Arden West in Sacramento, California.

The Committee will hear reports from working sub-committees and the general public, finalize plans for achieving the committee objectives and determine the method and timetable for making recommendations to the Secretary.

On Monday, August 21, from 7:30 p.m.-10:30 p.m., the sub-committee on Humane Working Conditions in Production Agriculture will sponsor a public hearing session on issues relating to the workforce in agriculture.

On Tuesday, August 22, from 2:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m. the general public can provide oral and written comments to the Committee on issues related to small farms. Anyone wishing to make a statement at either session should contact Enrique Nelson Escobar at (202) 720-9354.
