Al Dente Celebrates Thanksgiving With A Prix Fixe Italian Family-Style Dinner

This Thanksgiving, the modern Italian trattoria Al Dente, located at 3201 New Mexico Avenue, NW, invites patrons to celebrate the holiday with a four-course, family-style meal prepared by Esquire magazine's 2012 "Chef of the Year," Roberto Donna. On Thursday, November 22nd, Al Dente will offer a four-course Thanksgiving menu for lunch into dinner service from 12 PM to 8 PM. Priced at $35.95 per person and $12 for children 10 and under (tax and gratuity excluded), guests can select a soup or salad, pasta, entr?e and dessert. This prix fixe holiday menu is available when ordered by all guests at the table. The same menu is available a la carte for those who do not want to partake in four courses.

Executive Chef Roberto Donna's Thanksgiving menu features First Course options such as Mixed Green Salad with pears, walnuts, ricotta salata topped with balsamic dressing; Roasted Butternut Squash with shallots, potato, sausage and gorgonzola cheese polenta and Chestnut Soup with sweet onions and fried Brussels spout leaves. The Second Course offers artfully prepared homemade pasta, including Homemade Cappellacci Pasta filled with Kabocha squash, Amaretti, butter sage sauce and Parmigiano cheese and Lasagnette with butternut squash puree, b?chamel sauce and Taleggio cheese. Donna's tempting entr?es feature the season's premier game, with dishes such as Scallopini Turkey Breast with pancetta, mushroom tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese; Grilled Beef Tenderloin Tips with balsamic sauce served with roasted potatoes, as well as Grilled Salmon atop spinach with caper sauce.

Al Dente's newly appointed Pastry Chef Shawtisha Andrews is serving decadent dessert options, including Pumpkin Tiramisu with Mascarpone cheese and Apple Caramel Bread Pudding.
