All Hands On Deck: Harbour's Crew Sets Sail

Restaurateur Richard Schaeffer, former chairman of NYMEX Holdings, Inc., and Michelin star chef partner Joe Isidori embark on their newest endeavor, Harbour. The restaurant is a stylish 80-seater with nautical nuances, located on 290 Hudson Street in West Soho (212.989.6410). Isidori's Urban Market Cuisine features sustainably raised seafood and a selection of crudo at the bar. The dining room mimics a ship's interior with portholes along the eastern wall while the bar resembles an airy beach house on the shore. Schaeffer commissioned Brooklyn artist Michael Ayoub to create an intricate hand-blown glass chandelier as a contrast to the minimalist design of the restaurant.

Chef Isidori presents Urban Market Cuisine on his menu. Creative classics including Braised Chuck Steak, Razor Clams, and Arctic Char tug the menu into an approachably sustainable arena. Pedigreed restaurant veterans who have worked with Guy Savoy, Michael Symon, David Bouley, and Roy Yamaguchi fill Isidori's culinary team. Members include chef de cuisine Anthony Fusco, crudo chef Jonah Kim, and chef de partie James Merker, formerly of the Michelin award winning team at DJT. Unique beers, well-priced wines, house-made cocktails, and artisanal sodas keep company on the beverage list.

The restaurant opened on March 23, 2009, serving dinner six days a week. Lunch, brunch, take-out, and delivery will be offered in April. During Harbour's first month of service, 10% of proceeds from select seafood dishes will be donated to Monterey Bay Aquarium, Chefs Collaborative, and Blue Ocean Institute.
