The Art of the Deal at the NRA Hotel-Motel Show in Chicago



Chicago, IL - CEO and Editor-in-Chief of StarChefs.com Antoinette Bruno will moderate the Art of the Deal panel discussion on Saturday May 19th, 10:30am to 11:30am at the National Restaurant Association Hotel-Motel Show in Chicago, Illinois.

As part of the NRA Show Education Sessions, the Art of the Deal panel discussion will include Adam Block, founder, Block & Associates, and Michael Kornick, chef-owner mk Restaurant. Together the trio will explore the economic decisions that impact the structure of culinary business deals and the risks involved for chefs and their financial partners. The chefs will also share how they found financing and negotiated partnerships to get their restaurants up and running. More importantly, Block and Kornick will reveal the delicate balance between working 70-plus hours a week to preserve their culinary integrity while managing every aspect of the business to keep their restaurants at the top of Chicago's dining scene. Adam Block will go into detail about the variables that impact a chef's decision to participate in the development and branding of restaurants, including fiscal objectives, brand value and exit strategies. This seminar will help chefs navigate the rocky terrain of developing their first concept or starting their own franchise while making the art of the deal a tangible reality.

The National Restaurant Association's Hotel-Motel Show is a trade event open to the foodservice and hospitality industry. Over 60 free educational sessions are available. All educational sessions will take place in the Technology Pavilion located in North Hall, Level 3 of McCormick Place's South Hall 4th floor.
