Award-winning Cuvee Hosts Wine Dinner Series To Benefit Hurricane Katrina Relief
Joining Boston's local Hurricane Katrina recovery efforts, Cuvee, located at 254 Newbury Street, will host a series of special wine dinners to benefit the American Red Cross' Relief Operation starting on Wednesday, September 14 at 7:00 p.m. Kicking off the first dinner of five is the world-class Trefethen Vineyards of Napa Valley. This dinner is $125 per person.
"It's critical that we assist the victims of this tragic natural disaster," said Tracie L. Clark, Cuvee's General Manager. "Over the next three months we'll host these five dinners, each featuring a distinguished vintner, to help raise a guarantee of $5,000 for the American Red Cross."
Cuvee, recognized for its extraordinary list of 400 hand-picked wines as a recent Wine Spectator Magazine "Award of Excellence" winner (August 31, 2005 issue), has invited an impressive array of internationally acclaimed vintners to the cause. Each independently prix fix event will feature a small reception followed by a special five-course dinner created by Head Chef Frank Schauttauer which pairs select wines from the featured vineyard with corresponding dishes. The Trefethen Vineyard event will include their donation of three select vintages for auction, the proceeds again for the Red Cross fundraising effort.
This week's Trefethen Vineyard dinner with auction will be followed by a dinner on Wednesday September 21 showcasing Flora Springs Winery & Vineyards. Three more wine dinners will occur on October 5 and 19 with the grand finale on November 9 featuring Opus One. Reservations are recommended as seating at the intimate Cuvee is limited.
