Bangkok Joe's Celebrates DC's Cherry Blossom Festival with Special Three-Course Menu
Washington, D.C. - When the famous Cherry Blossoms begin to paint Washington, DC pink and white, Bangkok Joe's Executive Chef and owner Aulie Bunyarataphan uses this vision as inspiration to weave cherries into her fresh and modern Thai cuisine. To pay homage to the 3,000 cherry trees that Japan gifted to the United States in 1912, Bangkok Joe's will offer a special three-course cherry-filled menu for lunch and dinner throughout the National Cherry Blossom Festival from Saturday, March 28 to Sunday, April 12, 2009.
"I look forward to this time every year. As the weather begins to warm up and we open our outdoor patio, it gets my creative juices flowing and I become more playful with our menu," said Chef Aulie. "Our 'Cherry Blossom' menu is the perfect example of having fun with DC culture while utilizing the Asian flavors and techniques that Bangkok Joe's has become known for."
Dishes like the Smoked Shrimp-Cherry Blossom Dumpling with Cherry-Lime Cream Sauce can be ordered la carte or with in a three course tasting menu for lunch and dinner, priced $25.09 and $35.09 respectively, with the option to add a Frozen Cherry Bellini cocktail for an additional $8.00.
