Cacao & Cardamom -participation Of This Years Metro Cooking Houston

Cacao and Cardamon is so pleased to announce their participation in this year's Metro Cooking Show in Houston on September 15th and 16th. This is an opportunity for them to bring their unique flavor palate and designs to visitors from across the state of Texas. They're dedicated to exploring their perpetual lust for culinary creativity through the medium of chocolate. They strive to provide beautiful chocolates and to witness the emotional impact of their creations on patrons.

Their handmade exotic chocolates are inspired by the chocolatier's uninhibited adventures, love for food, and the passionate people she's met along the way. Their goal is to introduce fascinating flavors such as; Guava Tamarind, Cardamom Rose, Szechuan Peppercorn, Black Sesame Ginger, Garam Masala Pistachio, and Coconut Curry. They inspire others to try new adventures, experience unexpected places and contribute to the world.

Cacao & Cardamom was opened in 2012 by artisan chocolatier, Annie Rupani. Annie had spent time in Boston studying Anthropology and Religion with stops in London, U.K. and Amman, Jordan to study abroad. During her travels around the world, she gained a special appreciation for food and began her love affair with the culinary arts. Coming from a South Asian background, the smell of cardamom, cumin, coriander, fennel and fenugreek were spices that flowed through her house, but were rarely appreciated until she began to see food in a different light. With chocolate constantly on her mind, she found a pastry school in Malaysia and attended a week of chocolatiering courses in Kuala Lumpur. Once she completed her projects in Pakistan, she made her way back to Houston determined to get her hands back on chocolate again. What followed was the infusion of flavors from her upbringing and travels that enhanced these chocolate bites of art, which she now wants to share.

Today Annie's chocolates can be found at artisan markets, gourmet specialty shops and at her online store- www.cacaoandcardamom.com . Soon she will be in a retail location where she can perfect her craft.
