Caf Adelaide Introduces A New Orleans Culinary Weekend: Eating, Drinking, And Carrying On In The Big Easy, October 7-10, 2010

Executive Chef Chris Lusk and Bar Chef Lu Brow to Lead an Edible Tour of New Orleans

with Guest Chef and James Beard Award Winner John Currence

A trip to New Orleans is not complete without three things: jazz, food and cocktails. The acclaimed team at The Big Easy's Caf Adelaide has created a weekend getaway filled with exclusive experiences that check all three off the itinerary in true NOLA style with the Caf Adelaide Culinary Weekend Package, October 7-10, 2010.

The 4-day, 3-night epicurean experience with accommodations at the Loews New Orleans Hotel begins on Thursday, October 7, 2010, with a welcome reception hosted by Co-Proprietors of Caf Adelaide and Commander's Palace and authors of In The Land of Cocktails, Ti Adelaide Martin and Lally Brennan (a.k.a. "The Cocktail Chicks"). The party will feature interactive cocktail lessons with Swizzle Stick Bar Chef Lu Brow who will demonstrate classics like the sidecar and Sazerac along with Swizzle Stick signatures such as the Tequila Mockingbird II. Extra sets of muddlers, shakers and strainers will be available for those who want to join the action and shake it up. Chefs Chris Lusk, Tory McPhail and John Currence will pair hors d'oeuvres with the evening's featured cocktails. Following the reception Lu will lead the group on a proper New Orleans Pub Crawl.

Friday, October 8, 2010, offers guests ample free time to explore the city before sitting down to a show-stopping dinner at Caf Adelaide by Chef Lusk cooking alongside 2009 James Beard Award winner John Currence and Commander's Palace Chef Tory McPhail.

Other highlights of the weekend include a Saturday, October 9, 2010 visit to the Crescent City Farmers Market with Executive Chef Chris Lusk followed by a cooking class in the Caf Adelaide kitchen. Saturday evening presents guests with the opportunity to enjoy dinner on their own, though the Caf Adelaide team will provide suggestions and reservations upon request. To top it off, the Eating, Drinking, and Carrying on weekend closes with the famed Jazz Brunch at Commander's Palace on Sunday morning, June 10, 2010.

"I was the first to sign-up!" Co-Proprietor of Caf Adelaide Ti Martin laughed. "There is no better way to explore New Orleans than with three notable chefs," she continued. "We could not be more thrilled to have John Currence taking part in the festivities." added Martin's cousin and Co-Proprietor Lally Brennan.
