Celebrate The Revolutions From Independence Day To Bastille Day At Bastille Restaurant In Alexandria, Va!
Washington, DC - Bastille Day, celebrated on July 14th, is an exciting celebration for the French, as it commemorates the storming of Bastille Prison back in 1789 and the launch of the French Revolution. This year Bastille Restaurant will pay homage to their namesake and bring both national holidays together in Alexandria, Virginia. Diners can create their very own French-American alliance and "mange" on Chef Christophe Poteaux's delicious three-course prix-fixe menu with a medley of classic yet contemporary bistro dishes that draw both French and American influences. The "Celebrate the Revolutions" menu is available for dinner from July 3rd through July 14th for $35.00 per person, excluding Sundays.
Mark the beginning of the night with a taste of France by enjoying Bastille's signature Calamari and Shrimp Beignets served with sheep milk yogurt and harissa dip; Heirloom Tomato and Burrata Cheese topped with basil and oregano vinaigrette or Goat Cheese Cromesqui served with baby arugula, fresh berries and Dijon-citrus vinaigrette.
Guests can choose from an assortment of Poteaux's alluring entr�es including a Grilled Mediterranean Sea Bass Filet with cherry tomato, fennel and orange ragout; Pan-seared Sea Scallops with anis-fennel pesto and cumin-eggplant caponata and a Moroccan-style Tajine of Chicken: braised Amish chicken with seasonal vegetables, dried fruits, harissa, served over pearl couscous & garbanzo beans. Don't miss the Grilled Lamb Chops and Merguez Sausage, with Harissa-Ras el hanout oil and "Couscous de Barbes" with raisins, chickpeas, and summer vegetables or Vande Rose Farm All Natural Beef Hanger Steak with long pepper sauce & pommes frites.
Top off the celebration with one of Pastry Chef Michelle Garbee's tantalizing desserts. Enjoy a delicious Blackberry Upside-Down Cake with roasted peach compote and blackberry coulis, Madagascar Vanilla Bean Cr�me Br�l�e, Valrhona Chocolate Truffle Cake with kirsch and cherries, or Ginger Cr�me Caramel topped with fresh summer blueberries. As an optional course, Bastille will offer a Trio of Cheeses with house made condiments for an additional $9.00, or guests may replace the dessert course with the cheese trio for a supplemental $5.00.
