Charlie's Launches Lunch In Malibu - Thank You Cookies Welcome New Lunch Diners For February
Charlie's, the popular restaurant of owner Charlie DiLorenzo, will launch lunch service on Monday, January 31, 2011. With service Mondays through Fridays from 11:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., the menu offers attractive pricing for lunch and features many of the favorite signature dishes now enjoyed at dinner or in the lounge.
"Our customers have been requesting lunch for a while. Malibu is a small community and we felt a need for more lunch choices for our locals and destination diners where they can dine in a great room with a professional yet relaxed service," says owner DiLorenzo. And, for the month of February (excluding Valentine's Day, February 14), DiLorenzo offers a thank you plate of Charlie's home-baked cookies as a welcome to all new lunch diners.
Starters include Lobster Spring Rolls with Mustard Sauce; Crisp Calamari Steaks with Spicy Marinara; House Chips with Blue Cheese & Gunslinger Sauce and Chicken Wings available in three choices of 'heat,' mild, Bangkok or hot.
Salads, hand-crafted sandwiches, pizzas and pastas selections are plentiful. There is a Chopped Salad; a classic Caesar, Pear & Walnut Salad; and Warm Spinach Salad with radish, tomato, bacon and egg. Sandwiches and burgers include a Club Sandwich with oven-roasted turkey, applewood smoked bacon, bibb lettuce, tomatoes, havarti, lemon basil aioli on sourdough toast; Grilled Cheese of Spanish Queso Fresco and Manchego cheeses; a Rib-Eye Steak Sandwich char-grilled with Swiss cheese, horseradish Dijon, lettuce and tomato on rosemary focaccia; and the Charlie Burger, char-grilled kobe beef with applewood bacon, avocado and tomato.
Pizzas are most popular at Charlie's and include the house choice White Pizza with ricotta, feta, mozzarella, Parmesan and white truffle essence; along with simple Tomato, Basil & Garlic and Pepperoni pizzas. Classic pastas complete the lunch menu with Spaghetti Aglio y Olio; Penne alla Vodka and a Mushroom Risotto, available with seasonal organic vegetables or chicken.
DiLorenzo opened her dream restaurant "for the neighborhood" in spring 2009 to outstanding reviews. Celebrating its second anniversary on January 30, 2011, the restaurant's stylish dining room and lounge was instantly embraced by the local community and diners visiting this spectacular California coast destination. With a degree in design and architecture from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, Charlie lends her sense and sensibilities to this stylish yet casual restaurant and lounge, which features neutral tones and natural woods highlighted by striking Dolce and Gabbana leopard-print 'mademoiselle' chairs and a hand-blown glass chandelier.
In addition to its menu of classic steaks, seafood and pasta, Charlie's boasts a contemporary bar program of original cocktails and a wine cellar of 150 labels reaching from Malibu to the M�doc. The intimate lounge and bar offer a selection of small plates, pizzas and appetizers from 5:00 p.m. until late-night daily.
