Chef Donna Nordin Brings Her Talent Out Of The Kitchen

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Tucson, AZ, March, 2005 --- What's more delightful than a flourless chocolate cake prepared by an award-winning chef? A delectable array of beads and collectables turned into especially delicious works of wearable art by chef Donna Nordin, the well-known pioneer of Southwestern Cuisine. Nordin has been creating beautiful dishes for years out of her renowned restaurant Terra Cotta in Tucson, Arizona. Recently, Donna took up beading as a hobby hoping that she could create jewelry for herself featuring some of the special pieces she had collected from all over the world on trips with restaurateur husband Don Luria.
The first time she wore one of her stunning creations she had numerous offers to purchase it on the spot. With this enthusiastic response she quietly began creating uniquely beautiful signature pieces of jewelry that reflect that certain Donna Nordin style and flair. In the same way that she draws her culinary inspirations from the rich flavors and luscious colors of the foods of the Southwest, Donna's jewelry looks almost good enough to eat. Each creation is a feast for the eyes with alluring combinations of color and textures, featuring old world and artisan crafted collectables combined with semi precious stones.
The evolution of Donna Designs was a natural one. Her many culinary fans now enthusiastically seek out her jewelry originals, which are receiving the same sort of rave reviews her cookbooks and cuisine have received for over 20 years.
Chef Nordin's works are available at the following boutiques around the country:
Tucson Museum of Art, Tucson, AZ; Objects, Montecito, CA; IRIS, Palm Desert, CA; COPIA (American Center for Wine, Food & the Arts) Napa, CA; Casa Nova of Annapolis, Annapolis, MD; Dickson Ltd., Cleveland Heights, OH; and American Crafts Gallery, Shaker Heights, OH.
