Chef Eric Hara Serves Up Revinvented Classics At 9 Restaurant - New Hell's Kitchen Restaurant Energizes Neighborhood Dining Scene
The New York dining scene is one of the most dynamic and eclectic in the world, and nowhere is that more evident than in the Hell's Kitchen (Clinton) neighborhood. 9 Restaurant , the first by acclaimed Chef Eric Hara, has entered the area's dining scene and raised the bar for interesting, delicious, and inspired Modern American cuisine in a fun, flashy, and comfortable atmosphere. Chef Hara's vision for the ultimate vibe, along with his sophisticated palate and cuisine, have blended to create this lively, chic eatery.
"Branching into the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood with my first restaurant project as owner and chef is beyond exciting," says Hara "At 9 Restaurant I'm creating twists on classic dishes and serving them in an awesome room with graffiti on the walls! The goal here is to create a balance of innovative flavor combinations in recognizable dishes, with approachable prices and a great dining experience."
Examples of Chef Hara's playful yet earnest dishes include Duck and Foie Gras "Meatloaf" Dumplings ($9); Lobster "Pigs in a Blanket" with lobster mayo & mustard seed relish ($9); Beef Cheek "Pot Roast" with root vegetables, ricotta gnocchi and Yorkshire pudding ($24); Crisp Berkshire Pork Shank with stewed coco beans and sweet and sour cabbage ($25); Skate "Schnitzel" with caper berries, cauliflower, Meyer Lemon and brown butter ($21).
