Cincinnati Chef Encourages Community to Eat. Play. Give.

CINCINNATI: 7 Days for SIDS, the annual fundraiser founded by Jean-Robert and Annette de Cavel, announces its week of events, June 7 -13, 2010. The week begins with the Pease Memorial Golf Outing and closes with the Family Day Brunch.
"Annette and I are so thankful to our friends in both the restaurant community and those who have supported us all these years," says Jean-Robert de Cavel.
He adds, "Every year, thousands of families are affected by SIDS-parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends...so if by doing this event every year we can put some focus SIDS and raise money to help families like ours, then we will have done some good."
The Pease Memorial Golf Outing, Monday, June 7 at the Wyoming Golf Club, is in its 16th year and its fourth as a 7 Days for SIDS event. Founded by Charlie and Tara Pease in memory of their daughter, Laura Elizabeth, the outing features morning and afternoon sessions, food, a silent auction and prizes. http://www.7daysforsids.com/events.html?Browse=0

The Family Day Brunch, presented by Cincinnati Children's, ends the week Sunday, June 13, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Midwest Culinary Institute at Cincinnati State. 7 Days for SIDS raises money for awareness and research towards the eradication of SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome), the number one cause of death of children from birth to one year, through the Sudden Infant Death Network of Ohio. And to sustain the Tatiana de Cavel Scholarship Fund at the Midwest Culinary Institute at Cincinnati State.
