Chefs, Farmers And Kids Star In 2008 Chefs A'field Series

WASHINGTON, DC - December 5, 2007:
Chefs A' Field: Kids On The Farm will commence filming 13-HDTV episodes for a brand new season of culinary adventures. This month our cameras will focus on top chefs and farmers in San Francisco and Washington, DC and then we'll continue our journey throughout the United States in 2008.

Chefs A' Field will offer a new batch of culinary adventures as America's best chefs-and their kids-venture out to farms, fishing boats, the wilderness, and ranches for a look at where great food comes from.
Washington, DC Chef Jose Andres (Caf Atlantico, Jaleo, Zaytinya) and his two daughters will visit Pot Pie Farms on Maryland's Eastern Shore to see which came first: the chicken or the egg? Then it is off to Napa Valley where Chef Charlie Palmer (Aureole, Dry Creek, Charlie Palmer Steak) takes his four sons back to his childhood roots of working on pasture-based dairy farms and making cheese. They'll milk cows, then take their hard earned reward to Cowgirl Creamery in Point Reyes to make artisanal cheeses by hand.

The new season will showcase sustainable and regional cuisine with picturesque scenes shot in the field at the peak of seasonal harvest. Each episode features a top American chef and their children who go in search of fresh ingredients for unique local specialties, interacting with those who grow and catch our food. Then it's back into the kitchen where the fresh locally grown ingredients are transformed into some of the most delectable dishes on the menus of America's finest restaurants.

In its first three seasons Chefs A' Field is described by many as a "cooking series with a conscience," where viewers discover why thoughtful agricultural and sustainable seafood practices make a difference in how foods taste and hold their nutritional value. In the kitchen
whilethe series simplifies the professional techniques of the restaurant and encourages cooking with family and friends. Ideas for how to cook with kids, shop with a environmental mindset, and get everyone closer to where their food comes from has made this series a stand-out in its genre.

Chefs A' Field was the first cooking-related program ever to be produced in High Definition for American viewing and has received wide critical acclaim as well as two prestigious James Beard Awards, including Best National Television Cooking Program. The series has also received two CINE Golden Eagle Awards, two White House Photographers Awards, The Chicago Film Festival's Gold Hugo Award, and Food & Wine Magazine's annual Tastemaker Award.
