Chef's Showcase Fundraiser Benefits Caregivers Support Network

CHEF’S SHOWCASE FUNDRAISER BENEFITS CAREGIVERS SUPPORT NETWORK
More Than $6,000 Raised for Youth Caregiver Scholarships

LARGO, Fla., (July 23, 2014) – The Goodman Group, developer and manager of The Palms of Largo campus and eight of its senior living and health care communities in South Florida, hosted the first annual “Chef’s Showcase” to support the Caregivers Support Network (CSN) on July 17 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. All of the proceeds benefitted the Caregivers Support Network, a nonprofit organization providing scholarships to youth caregivers. The approximately 100 guests raised more than $6,000 for youth caregivers, meaning at least five additional scholarships of $1,000 will be awarded during Caregivers Support Network’s Caring Heart Society award recognition ceremony in May, 2015.

The charitable event was enjoyed by residents and employees of The Palms of Largo campus senior living communities, families, neighbors, and the greater community. Four food stations showcased the chefs’ exquisite recipes and samplings of local, sustainable and organic recipes. With more than 200 years of combined experience in the culinary field and an additional 45 years working at Goodman Group managed communities, the eight chefs supported CSN’s mission of emphasizing quality of life through education and good nutrition with their expertise. An event raffle included more than 50 silent auction items, all of which were sold for charity.

“I feel privileged to be a part of our Caregivers Support Network; serving our greater community and supporting continuing education for youth caregivers through extraordinary events,” said Robert Delle Donne, CSN board of directors’ president and director of Real Estate Services for The Goodman Group. “The Chef’s Showcase is a wonderful charity event sponsored by local companies, and we are equally proud to have hosted this great event at The Palms of Largo.”

The fundraiser was made possible with support from Master Chef Sponsors The Goodman Group, The Tampa Tribune, Mobile Physicians Services, Bright House Networks, and Carson Photography.
