Chicago's First And Only Aerial Wine Artists Debut At Texas De Brazil

Texas de Brazil's new Chicago location, in The Shops at North Bridge, just off of the Magnificent Mile, is introducing an unprecedented feature to the Windy City; a full-glass, two story wine room ornamented with flying wine artists. Clad in black body suits, the artists will perform gymnastic aerial tumbles and flips while they retrieve bottles of wine as ordered by on-looking diners.

Texas de Brazil COO and Vice President Salim Asrawi was inspired after dining at the Aureole Restaurant in Las Vegas which has a similar concept. He wanted to bring it to the next level in Chicago at Texas de Brazil. Just the third wine retrieval system in the world of its kind, the Texas de Brazil flying system is the only track that enables the artist to fly both vertically and horizontally. Designed and installed by Chicago Flyhouse Inc., the company behind Criss Angel's magic levitation techniques, the motorized hoisting system is attached to the ceiling by a steel frame and track. The wine artists will control their movement on the transparent cables with a handheld controller allowing them to go up and down, right and left. Numerous safety features have been installed including a safety cable attached to the rear of each harness and emergency shut off buttons.

Texas de Brazil's extraordinary wine room is glass from floor to ceiling, allowing diners to enjoy the spectacle as artists retrieve their bottled beverages. The wine room will have 1,820 bottles of wine within 130 wine cubes. Texas de Brazil's award-winning wine list will feature over 500 varieties ranging in price from $24 to $8,000. The selection will have an emphasis on domestic California wines and South American red wines. Texas de Brazil also features their own private label wine collection available in a merlot, chardonnay and cabernet sauvignon. The private label wines are from Portugal-the root of Brazilian culture.

In addition to the dual-level wine room and flying wine artists, other features of new 24,000 square foot location include:

� High-end liquor rooms featuring Louis XIII, Hennessy Ellipse Cognac, Macallan 55 Year Whisky and more
� Extravagant bar/lounge area with imported furniture from Bali

The Brazilian serving style and rustic atmosphere of Texas de Brazil allows guests to enjoy an entertaining and upscale dining experience, complete with excellent service and exquisite food. Texas de Brazil's Chicago menu will feature a gourmet salad area containing more than 75 items, a fresh sushi bar and full meat service cooked in the traditional Brazilian "Churrascaria" style. Meat selections include Brazilian sausage, chicken breast wrapped in bacon and rack of lamb and picanha, the house specialty, to name a few. Salad bar items include but are not limited to Brazilian black beans with pork, imported cheeses, marinated portobello mushrooms and artichoke hearts.

The dining concept of Texas de Brazil is simple: guests pay a flat rate, inclusive of salad bar and sushi area, meats and side items and are provided with as much or as little meat as desired, which is sliced and diced tableside by the Gauchos.
