Cinquecento, To Open Late November 2012. Aquitaine Group Brings The Flavors Of Rome To Boston With Their Trattoria

The Aquitaine Group is excited to announce the opening of their latest restaurant venture, Cinquecento, a Roman Trattoria, located at 500 Harrison Avenue in Boston's South End. Cinquecento, which translates into 500 in Italian offers neighbors of this edgy community a contemporary, casual and energetic Roman Trattoria, perfect for a spontaneous night out or your go-to spot for dinner and brunch.Cinquecento will be the perfect meeting place for visitors and residents a like, as the restaurant will offer complimentary parking in their adjacent lot.

Located in the burgeoning SOWA area of Boston, Cinquecento was conceived to fill the need for an Italian neighborhood restaurant and gathering spot. According to The Aquitaine Group's founding Chef and Partner Seth Woods, "We envisioned a comfortable, inviting restaurant reminiscent of neighborhood trattorias found in Rome. A place where friends will come several nights a week, no matter where they are coming from or going to. The menu will be steeped in the Roman roots of simplicity, custom and comfort."

La Cucina Romana, or traditional Roman cooking, will be the focus at Cinquecentowith dishes inspired by Roman roots; incorporating the very best seasonal, local and imported ingredients from Italy. The Cinquecento menu is dictated more by custom, comfort and quality rather than the relentless drive to innovate and reinvent. The menu will be divided into seven sections, Antipasti, Zuppa e Insalate, Salumi, Pesce e Carne, Contorni and in following traditional Trattoria format, the Piatti Del Giorno. Guests will have lots of options for a light dinner or a festive night out; Cinquecento will be appropriate for all occasions.

Diners can expect to find dishes like: Ricotta Fresca, warm ricotta, olive oil, grilled bread; Zuppa di Fagioli, Borlotti Bean Soup with Smoked Ham and Kale; Gnocchi al Sulgo di Cinghiale, Wild Boar, Golden Raisins, Pinoli and Pecorino; Saltimbocca di Vitello con Carvolo, Veal, Proscuitto, Cabbage Fonduta and Marsala and Porchetta Arrosto, Pork Belly, Roasted Parsnips and Date Suso. Italians may not brunch, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't. Cinquecento's weekend brunch menu uses influences from Rome and other parts of Italy with dishes like: Bruschetta with Farm Egg, Pancetta & Candied Shallots; Roasted Mushrooms, Pancetta with Fried Farm Egg and Ricotta Salata; and Apple & Taleggio Panino with Honey Walnut Pesto, Roasted Porchetta Panino with Mostarda and Bitter Greens.

The wine program will feature an all-Italian wine list offering wines by the glass, quartino, carafe and bottles. The wine by the glass list will offer over twenty wines, 4 of which will be offered "on tap". The great producers of Italy as well as the small vinters will be represented on this 100 bottle list. The cocktail program at Cinquecento can be described as innovative and Roman inspired. Cocktails, like the food will be simple, rooted in tradition, beautifully presented, never using more than four or five of the best and freshest ingredients and mixers. Cinquecento will have a large selection of Amaro (Italian herbal liqueurs) in Boston with a wide selection of Amaro glasses to match. The beer selection at Cinquecento will be divided into Italian, European and domestic brews both in bottles and on tap. Coffee, so much a part of Roman culture, will play an important part in the dining experience at Cinquecento. A barista will turn out coffee and espresso to end each meal.

The Aquitaine Group and Peter Niemitz have collaborated again to present a restaurant that evokes an Italian sense of comfort, charm and style. A striking illuminated cast iron and glass staircase greets guests and leads them to the main dining room and bar. The 126 seat main dining room features a rustic mix of reclai
