Fort Lauderdale, Fla. -- February 7, 2013 - Oreo scored a touchdown on social consumer sentiment in the Restaurant Social Media Index (RSMI) on Super Bowl Sunday, with a 902.3 sentiment score out of a total perfect score of 1,000. Rounding out the Top 3 of the measured food & restaurant brands were M+M's (892.4 points) and Coca-Cola (759.2 points).
The runners-up are, respectively: Taco Bell (722.9); Doritos (710.7); MiO Water Enhancer (699.7); Subway (640.9); Pepsi (638.8); Budweiser (559.8); and SodaStream (450.9).
RSMI sentiment data is based solely on socially active restaurant influencers, also known as prosumers, who have had at least two interactions with a brand on social throughout the past 30 days.
"This score is especially important since it's targeted at restaurant consumers from the RSMI, which is highly relevant and targeted," said Paul Barron, Founder of DigitalCoCo, the digital branding agency that developed and created the Index.
The ranking evaluated more than 1.9 million comments and social discussions as related to the Super Bowl ads by restaurant consumers. The overall reach of these comments and social conversations had an overall social reach of more than 1.1 billion within just 24 hours of the Super Bowl.
