Cuisine Populaire Fulfills Video Production Needs In Food, Wine & Luxury Travel Sector
In the past year, Cuisine Populaire's business model has evolved from the print and web world to incorporate a new media component satisfying the full-service video production needs of both the consumer and trade in the food, wine and luxury travel sector.
Now bearing the moniker CP Productions, the firm will continue with a shortened release schedule of e-newsletters and podcasts from across the globe, but is focusing on cultivating opportunities to offer high-quality video production services comprised of script writing, camera crews, lighting and sound equipment, editing, complete post production, design, replication and packaging, distribution consulting and original scoring. Moving images are an effective tool of communication for product services or destinations and CP Productions allows clients to use its high-quality video productions for multiple distribution platforms including DVD's, the web and marketing programs.
As a result of relationships with top international chefs, restaurant groups, winemakers, organic farms and television hosts, CP Productions amassed an impressive list of commissioned productions in 2007, including filming the Telluride Wine Festival and Spain's Copa Jerez Cooking Competition, a project done for Steven Olson (aka wine geek), New York City. Not wanting to limit itself to only food and wine, CP Productions also filmed several events including an authentic Argentinean asado sponsored by Terrazas Wines in Chicago, a training and consumer project for 10 Cane Rum and has begun working on a cocktails series which will be available on the Cuisine Populaire website later this year.
CP Productions owner Bob Borchardt's expanded knowledge in the arena of video production and a desire to tell an insightful story about a successful chef close to his heart led to his most ambitious project of the year. Borchardt collaborated with his brother, chef Bradley Borchardt, to direct his first full-length feature documentary titled, Mountains, Buildings & Deserts - One Chef's Journey.
The film came to fruition in October 2007 and looks at chef Borchardt's travel and cooking experiences, his mentors and how they have helped him create his palate over the past 12 years. Intimate and revealing stories of his food journey take viewers from the quiet mountain town of Crested Butte, to the food Mecca of New York City. Other stops include a visit with culinary superstar Mark Miller in Santa Fe and a glimpse of the food and culture of Tokyo. A riveting story about an American chef and how he has learned his craft.
Theater screenings for Mountains, Buildings & Deserts - One Chef's Journey are being scheduled for late 2007 in Chicago and New York and DVD's are scheduled to be released in December 2007. A trailer of the film as well as additional demos can currently be viewed at www.cuisinepopulaire.com.
