Cure Restaurant Launches Bar Program
PITTSBURGH, PA - Chef Justin Severino of CURE restaurant (5336 Butler St, Lawrenceville, PA 15201 / 412.252.2595) announces the official launch of a full service bar and cocktail program, which will feature classic and signature cocktails, draft and bottled beers, an extensive amari collection and a robust wine list, served by the glass or bottle.
The philosophy behind the new bar program at CURE is to offer a carefully selected collection of cocktails, beers and wine that pair perfectly with the award-winning menu. Much like Chef Justin Severino's culinary style, the cocktail menu reflects the seasonality of western Pennsylvania's ingredients extends CURE's relationship with local producers and foragers beyond the kitchen doors to the bar. The house cocktails incorporate items like house made rhubarb-brandied strawberries, pickled ramps and dry vermouth infused with morel mushrooms. To further cultivate the strong link between CURE's kitchen and bar, Barman Colin Anderson has worked closely with Justin to develop the signature cocktail list, classic cocktails and rotating list of local, domestic and international beers.
Having been one of CURE's most loyal customers from the start, Sommelier Michael Krehas joined the team with intimate knowledge of the menu and has curated the wine list to accent the story of Justin's cuisine. Introducing a refreshing and versatile selection to the Pittsburgh area, Michael has stocked a number of back-vintage wines and an impressive list of European and American natural wines. West coast wines speak to Justin's culinary pedigree in California, while a comprehensive list of Spanish and Italian wines accent the flavors in his Italian and European-inspired cuisine.
"While we've been able to achieve our mission through the food up until this point, this is an exciting opportunity for CURE," said Chef Justin Severino. "For the first time since we opened, we can extend our philosophy into the beverage program to complete the full CURE experience."
The restaurant, which has operated as a BYO restaurant since it opened on December 31, 2011, will continue to allow customers to bring their own beverages, but the corkage fee is now $15.
