D'atri's New Cookbook Offers Mouth-watering Recipes And Heart-warming Stories

Jan D'Atri is serving up another delicious concept to add to her list of television, radio and columnist successes. As a follow-up to her Momma & Me Biscotti segment on QVC in November, the restaurateur plans to launch her new Momma & Me & You cookbook at the Phoenix Home & Garden Show beginning March 24. The cookbook also marks her official launch of her new Momma & Me brand, so look for future products under this name.

Seventy years in the making, Momma & Me & You, holds the D'Atri's most treasured recipes along with many of their favorite stories and memories. These recipes were enjoyed by some of Hollywood's famous including Nat King Cole, Jerry Lewis and Jimmy Durante. The celebrities would visit D'Atri's Restaurant in Lake Tahoe, where you'd often find them in the kitchen, dipping their finger into the sauti pan of rich Marsala sauce cooked up by Chef Livia (Jan's mother).

D'Atri and her mother have owned four restaurants, a gourmet food company and lots of memories. Their new cookbook features Momma Livia's original Italian recipes along with beautiful photos of the dishes. "This book is my mom's legacy," D'Atri says. "She's a real treasure."

The book is attractive enough to be displayed, but is meant to provide a place to record your own recipes and traditions as well. "It's a love story...of memories you make in the kitchen," D'Atri says. "I hope that as you thumb through these recipes, you promise to leave lots of buttery and saucy thumbprints of your own. We want this cookbook to be the one that never leaves your kitchen or your heart."

Some of the flavorful dishes include Salsa Bolognese, Cannelloni, Risotto Alla Veneto, and Radicchio de Treviso. "These recipes are the real deal, just like Momma," D'Atri says. "There are no shortcuts, yet you'll find her classic recipes remarkably simple. When you have a few great flavors and an equally splendid teacher, you don't need much more."

The D'Atris will be autographing their new book at the Phoenix Home Improvement & Garden Show at the Civic Plaza March 24-26. They will also be sharing their nostalgic celebrity photos from their Lake Tahoe restaurant. Get your tickets now to be apart of this special event. D'Atri plans to donate a portion of the book's proceeds to the Inflammatory Breast Cancer Research Foundation in honor of her sister, Vicki, who survived a rare form of breast cancer.
