Drink Wines Italian Style And Eat Slow Food - Los Angeles Style

On Tuesday, June 10, 2003, Slow FoodL.A., Slow Food U.S.A., and Kobrand Corporation will present Italian Masters and Slow Food-LA, an evening of thirty of the finest Italian wines paired with tastings from the best local restaurants in Los Angeles. Eight Italian winemakers and their award winning wines will be featured along side the culinary delights from noted Los Angeles chefs, restaurateurs and purveyors Suzanne Goin of Lucques and AOC, Mako Tanaka of Mako, Nicola Mastronardi of Vincenti Ristorante, Josie Le Balch of Josie, Gavin Portsmouth of Zax, Joe Miller of Joes, Sang Yoon of Fathers Office, Piero Selvaggio and Steve Samson of Valentino and Posto, Chris Pollan of the Cheese Store of Silverlake, Michelle Suh and Bruno Lopez of Jaan Restaurant in a walk around tasting reception benefiting Slow Food  LA and Slow Food U.S.A..

Upon announcement of this event, Chef Evan Kleiman, Slow Food-LA convivium leader, is excited to have an opportunity for the wine lovers of Los Angeles, to meet the great artisan winemakers from the major wine centers of Italy, and to learn about, taste, and experience wines from their highly prized wine portfolios. To be able to taste and do a side by side comparison of Super Tuscans from San Guido, maker of Sassicaia, Castello del Terriccio, maker of Lupicaia and Tassinaia, Brunellos from Tenute Silvio Nardi along with powerhouse wines from Michele Chiarlo, Tenuta Sette Ponti, Giovanni Folonari to name just a few (see list of participating winemakers and their wines below) this is an amazing tasting opportunity for oenophiles and food lovers alike. We are pleased to bring the best of the great Italian wine masters and pair them with the masters from our own culinary scene which will showcase the diversity and eclectic culinary styles of our amazing Los Angeles Chefs and purveyors  wow!

This event is open to the public and will take place between 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at the Park Hyatt  Century City, 2151 Avenue of the Stars, Los Angeles, California 90067.
