Dupont Grille Gives Thanks By Donating 25k To Gulf Coast Relief Efforts

Washington, DC -With the season of giving upon us, Dupont Grille is making a special donation of $25,000 to help the recovery efforts in New Orleans and other areas affected by the hurricanes. The funds were raised in October, when Dupont Grille opened its doors to the neighborhood, and donated an unprecedented 100 percent of all sales from lunch and dinner on a Friday and Saturday directly to the Salvation Army's Hurricane Relief Fund.

While the outpouring of support immediately following the Hurricanes that pounded the Gulf Coast region was staggering, the area suffered extensive, long-term damage and much remains to be done as new needs arise for those devastated by the storms and the aftermath.

"We are a neighborhood restaurant that prides itself on supporting the community, and we, along with so many of our neighbors, felt it was our first priority to help those who have lost so much from this tragedy," said Dupont Grille's new Executive Chef Duane Keller, a strong believer in giving back to the community. "Despite stormy weather the weekend of October 21st and 22nd, area residents turned out in force because they knew they could directly help those who were hit the hardest."

Drawing upon his expertise in working with seafood, Keller premiered new menu items that paid tribute to the flavors of the Gulf Coast, including a New Orleans's Fall Trio featuring Pan Seared Gulf Snapper on wasabi mashed potatoes with Jumbo Lump Crab Meat and Shrimp.

"Dupont Grille's customers were thrilled about being able to do something to make a difference in the lives of those who have been affected by the hurricanes," said General Manager Tom Casey. "We are so thankful to everyone who dined with us for coming out and showing their support."

Dupont Grille is open for lunch Monday through Friday from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m, and Saturday from 11:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Dinner is served Monday through Saturday from 5:30 p.m. until 11:00 p.m., and on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Sunday brunch is served from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. For reservations, call 202-939-9596.
