Dupont Grille's New Executive Chef Introduces His Award-winning Cuisine

Dupont Grille's newly appointed Executive Chef Duane S. Keller brings over 25 years experience building the reputations of restaurants along the East Coast and in Canada. Known for his expertise in preparing seafood, Chef Keller has served as executive chef at area restaurants, including Blue Point Grill, Potowmack Landing Restaurant, Market Street Bar & Grill at the Hyatt Regency Reston, and The Ashby Inn.

A native of Saskatchewan, Keller started working in restaurants at the age of 13, and honed his skills while training under some of the top European chefs in Canada, including Gerald Ehler of Calgary. The chef has cooked at the world-renowned James Beard House in New York and was selected to help Julia Child celebrate her 90th birthday with dazzling gastronomic creations. He has also received numerous awards including ClubCorp of America (C.C.A) Chef of the Year. In addition, restaurants under Chef Keller's direction have been honored in Washingtonian magazine's "Top 100," "Top 50," and "Best Brunches," as well as featured in Gourmet.

Keller strongly believes in giving back to the community and has shared this passion through creating heart-healthy menus for the American Cancer Society, feeding the homeless and disadvantaged through Taste of the Nation, and cooking for the Pentagon during the rescue operations of 9/11.

After working for ten years at restaurants in the Washington area suburbs, Chef Keller is excited to become a part of the city's vibrant Dupont Circle neighborhood. At Dupont Grille, he will continue to embrace the restaurant's modern American cuisine with regional influences, with an emphasis on seasonal seafood specialties. Keller believes, "A great dish starts with using only the best ingredients, and is simply prepared." He enjoys the changing of each season, and the opportunity to add new colors and textures to dishes based on what fresh, local produce is available. In addition to his duties at Dupont Grille, Chef Keller will also serve as executive chef for Jurys Washington Hotel, where Dupont Grille is located.


Dupont Grille is open for lunch Monday through Friday from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m, and Saturday from 11:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Dinner is served Monday through Saturday from 5:30 p.m. until 11:00 p.m., and on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Sunday brunch is served from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. For reservations, call 202-939-9596.
