Equinox Restaurant Celebrates Valentine's Day With Romantic Tasting Menu

Love is in the air at Equinox as the sophisticated American restaurant celebrates Valentine's Weekend with a special tasting menu. Priced at $95 per person and $140 with wine pairings, the Valentine's Weekend Tasting Menu will be offered from Friday, February 13 to Sunday, February 15, 2009.

Executive Chef Todd Gray will set the mood for the romantic six-course dinner with his signature item and nature's strongest aphrodisiac, Pan-fried Rappahannock oysters with caper-parsley butter, celery root puree, golden pineapple and celery leaf salad. Other highlights of the meal will include Bacon-wrapped veal tenderloin with slow cooked potato torte, crispy sweetbread and a hazelnut-veal reduction and a trio of artisan cheeses with quince chutney, warm brioche and marcona almonds. All the dishes featured in the tasting menu will also be available a la carte.

Equinox will also offer a cooking class on Saturday, February 14, 2009, where students will learn how to make dishes like steamed mussels and whole roasted rack of lamb with a delicious array of sides. The class is priced at $125 per person and will be offered on Saturday, February 14, 2009 from 1 pm to 3 pm. Reservations are required and can be made by calling (202) 331-8118 or emailing Caitie Craumer at caitie@equinoxrestaurant.com.
