Experience Chocolate In A 5-course Dinner & Beer Pairing
WHAT: Join Pete Slosberg of Cocoa Pete's Chocolate Adventures and Arlan Arnsten of Stone Brewing Company, Malt Advocate Magazine's "2004 Brewery of the Year," for a special evening of indulgence celebrating two of the world's greatest inventions--chocolate and beer.
Pete Slosberg, the guy who created Pete's Wicked Ale, will lead the event, which is open to the public. Pete, now known as Cocoa Pete in his new confection venture, will start off with his brief palate primer, Chocolate 101, and then offer patrons carefully paired portions of his two dearest passions. Samples of each of Cocoa Pete's four premium chocolate bars will be paired with specialty beers brewed and/or distributed by Stone Brewing Company.
Following the chocolate and beer pairing, chef Brein Clements, from the
critically acclaimed Friars Folly Wine Cellar, known for its great food and exciting European plaza atmosphere, will present a decadent, four-course "chocolate dinner." Each dish will feature Cocoa Pete's chocolate as a key ingredient and will be served with a different specialty beer. A surprise ending features a local Belle Marie Winery Port with a strawberry chocolate bunuelo.
