Green Networking Event To Be Held At LEED Certified i.Park in Norwalk
WILTON/NORWALK
Fairfield County GreenDrinks, a social networking group that brings eco-minded professionals from all sectors together for monthly mixers will hold its March mixer at i.Park Norwalk, site of the former Perkin-Elmer building on route 7 now renovated to a LEED-certified, environmentally-sustainable mixed-use corporate park.
The mixers typically draw over a hundred people from Connecticut, Westchester County and New York City and have recently received national media attention. National RE/sources, owners of the building and Mercury Solar Systems, installers of its "green" roof will host the March 12 GreenDrinks event at i.Park from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Cost is $20.
Additional sponsors include: Source Marketing, PerkinElmer's EcoAnalytix initiative, Waldners Business Environments, Frey Wine, Wolavers Organic Ale, and Green Star Insulation that will raffle a free energy audit. The event expects to draw more than 200 people from local Chambers of Commerce, government, corporations and the community. Tours of the building and the solar roof installation will be offered as well as a hands-on display of electric vehicles, courtesy of Action Motors in Danbury.
Source Marketing, an integrated marketing services agency and its subsidiary, Envi Marketing that focuses on sustainability are proud to call i.Park their new home and will be giving tours to the GreenDrinks guests. Originally founded in London in 1989, GreenDrinks International now has 320 groups around the world. Self-organizing and run predominantly by volunteers, the Fairfield County chapter relies on sponsors for its monthly venues, food, beverages and operating costs. In exchange, sponsors receive exposure, promotion and an opportunity to showcase their green initiatives
In addition to GreenDrinks events, "We've developed a membership benefits package that will allow businesses the unique opportunity to advertise, market and showcase their green products and services on the web, at events and through email blasts," says Burns-DeMelo.
