Food Cost Wizard Introduces Unique Internet-based Food Cost Reporting Service.
The Food Cost Wizard has announced a new food cost reporting system that will forever alter the way restaurant food costs are controlled. Terry Jannott, Chief Operating Officer of the Food Cost Wizard, announced this week that the Food Cost Wizard has begun to offer an internet-based food cost reporting service to restaurants.
The Food Cost Wizard's unique system of food cost reports will provide restaurants with daily food cost figures that will enable a restaurateur to compare what his daily actual food costs are with what his daily food costs should be, according to Mr. Jannott. This method does not rely on time-consuming inventories. With the advantage of daily food cost reports, a restaurateur will be able to spot a food cost problem immediately, make the appropriate adjustments and reduce costs immediately.
Mr. Jannott notes that another feature of the Food Cost Wizard's services is that the reports are categorized as to food products (meat, seafood, dairy, produce, etc.). This category-specific method of reporting food costs ( for both the "actual" costs percentage and the "should be" costs percentages) enables a restaurateur to zero-in on exactly where a food cost problem arose.
The Food Cost Wizard's unique method of food cost reporting helps a restaurateur get immediate notice of a high food cost problem and pinpoints where an investigation should be conducted to determine the exact cause of the problem. Restaurateurs no longer have to rely on total monthly food cost percentage reports to control food costs, which come too late and are not specific.
The costs of the services are a set up fee (based on number of menu items and recipes) and a monthly fee. Approximate set up fee would be $2,000-$3,000 and the monthly fee is $100. No software need be purchased, and management training takes less than 20 minutes. Management will only have to spend about ten minutes a day inputting purchases and sales figures into the Food Cost Wizard's Web site. The restaurant management will then only have to access the web site to obtain the daily food cost reports and other services.
According to Mr. Jannott , restaurant groups will be the first market they will target. However, he notes, the services would be helpful and affordable for all restaurant operations including small independents, multi-location restaurants, large chains, and government agencies.
The Food Cost Wizard's features are available at their web site : foodcostwizard.com. Sample food cost reports are available for review. There is also a "Food Cost Tips Library" on the site that offers valuable hints on how to reduce food costs.
Certainly, this new web site should be checked out by all restaurateurs who are looking for a truly useful and economical system of food cost reporting.
