Fulton Lounge Hosts The Neighborhood For Fulton Arts Walk

CHICAGO (September 29, 2006) - Fulton Lounge (955 W. Fulton Market), the Fulton Market District's original cocktailing destination, will take part in the Fulton Arts Walk 2006 being held Saturday, October 21 and Sunday, October 22 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., in conjunction with the Chicago's Department of Cultural Affairs' Chicago Artists' Month.

The Fulton Market District is one of Chicago's hidden gems, with many galleries, boutiques, restaurants and lounges tucked in among the meatpacking and greengrocers' loading docks. Fulton Lounge, and the neighborhood, will come vibrantly alive for the festivities all weekend, offering up its stylish interior as a gallery space for local artist and friend JB Gerolium's work on Saturday, October 21 and Sunday, October 22 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. On display will be numerous large-scale, mixed media works by Gerolium - a few of her pieces already adorn the walls of Fulton Lounge year-round - in the comfortable, living room-like interior. Artists, gallery owners and other Fulton Market neighbors will mingle while enjoying tasty snacks and a well-mixed cocktail from the Lounge's ever-evolving menu, currently featuring the most comprehensive selection of authentic vintage cocktails in the city.

About JB Gerolium:
JB Gerolium is a Chicago-based contemporary fine artist working in mixed media to create large-scale paintings. A graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Gerolium was inspired to become an artist by her grandfather, a factory glass blower. With a broad background in painting and sculpture, her most recent works in oil and mixed media on red oak combine emotion, texture and design, and, although flat, often appear three dimensional due to plays on depth perception. Her paintings convey an underlying tribute to her ancestry and the bonding of souls. By using red oak as the backbone of her work, Gerolium portrays the strength and beauty in nature and the power of lineage through the grains of the wood.
