Goode Company Launches Tour Of Texas To Commemorate 35th Year

An authentic barbeque staple since 1977, Goode Company Barbeque is excited to celebrate its 35th anniversary in 2012. To commemorate this milestone, Levi Goode, president of Goode Company, is officially announcing The Goode Texas Tour: a state-wide journey showcasing towns across Texas that have a special meaning to the Goode family.

By simply liking the Facebook page (www.facebook.com/GoodeCoBBQ), contestants have the opportunity to win an all-inclusive trip, with Goode Company as their tour guide. Each travel package will include airfare, hotel accommodations, and an exclusive Texas-themed activity highlighting the history and culture of the city itself. The purpose of the tour is to celebrate the heritage of Goode Company and the state of Texas, while also thanking all of the loyal patrons who have made Goode Company a Texas staple for 35 years.

The Texas Tour will launch today, March 1st, with Goode Company bringing two lucky guests to Austin, Texas for South By Southwest to enjoy the live music, food, and rich culture that make our Capitol City so unique. Guests will stay in the historic Mansion on Judge's Hill and have access to exclusive festival events, including VIP tickets to the Billy Reid & K-Swiss 'SXSW Shindig' at The Swan Dive, thanks to Goode Company.

After Austin, the Texas Tour keeps rolling:
- Fort Worth, TX (April): Guests will stay in the Hyatt Place Stockyards Hotel and enjoy tickets to Billy Bob's Texas concert and a NASCAR race.
- San Antonio, TX (June): Guests will stay in The Menger Hotel and will attend the Texas Folklife Festival with Levi Goode, a cooking class at the Culinary Institute of America, and Riverboat Tour through the River Walk.
- Gruene, TX (Aug.): Guests will stay in the Gruene Mansion Inn and receive tickets to Gruene Hall and Schlitterbahn Waterpark Resort.
- Round Top, TX (Oct.): Guests will stay in The Round Top Inn, attend the Fall Antiques Fair with Levi, receive invites to the Junk Gypsy's "Prom," and enjoy dinner at Royer's with Levi.
- Houston, TX (Nov.): Guests will stay in The Lancaster Hotel, attend a private party at Goode's Armadillo Palace with Levi and Goode family friends, and receive tickets to a Houston Texans home football game.

"Texas is, and always will be, my home," said Levi Goode. "I wanted to give people a way to know Texas like my family knows Texas, up close and personal, and this is the perfect way to do that."

With Goode Company serving as the unofficial tour guide throughout the duration of the Texas Tour, Levi Goode will offer details on his favorite spots in each city during the tour months through Goode Company's social media accounts. Those who are interested in participating in the Texas Tour should follow Goode Company on Twitter and "Like" their Facebook page for more information and a chance to win.

Since its inception in 1977, Goode Company has grown their brand to include seven restaurants showcasing their "made from scratch" authentic Texas cuisine. As a product of his legacy, Levi Goode was brought up in the industry, learning from his father and the original Goode Company owner Jim Goode. Now, Levi is in charge of all seven Houston restaurants and the Goode Company brand; including their thriving ecommerce presence, thanks in large part to their famous Brazos Bottom Pecan Pies. Levi combines his vast knowledge of local and regional ingredients and techniques to carry on the proud tradition that has made Goode Company a Texas icon.
