Government Of France Decorates Les Saisons' Chef Thierry Voisin
Tokyo, Japan; June 21st, 2011: Tetsuya Kobayashi, President, Imperial Hotel, Ltd. has
announced the decoration by the Government of France of its Les Saisons' Chef du
Cuisine Thierry Voisin with the Chevalier dans l'Ordre du Merite Agricole this past June
7th at a ceremony in the Imperial Hotel. The award was presented to Voisin for his special
distinction in services to agriculture by French Ambassador to Japan Philippe Faure.
Thierry Voisin was named chef du cuisine at The Imperial's award-winning,
Michelin-starred Les Saisons in 2005. He joined Imperial Hotel, Ltd. after a 17 year stint at
Gerard Boyer's three Michelin-starred Les Crayeres in Reims. The Chevalier dans l'Ordre
du Merite Agricole, dating from 1883, incorporates a leek and ribbon motif with a
red-orange stripe down each side, the stripes symbolizing the prestigious institution of
France's Ordre National de la L�gion d'Honneur. Voisin was scouted after a Y600 million
re-opening of Les Saisons, part of a Y17 billion five year renovation in preparation for the
hotel's 120th Anniversary in 2010.
Chef Voisin is now offering Les Saisons' patrons a special menu celebrating his decoration,
in progress through July 19th, and featuring marinated Mount Fuji trout with peach and
basil; sauteed langoustine and rhubarb, tomato-scented sauce with mustard; saut�ed
alfoncino fish and squid with freshly emulsified herbs; roasted filet of beef tournedoes
Marie-Louise style with stuffed artichoke and rich onion puree with truffle sauce; "Rose de
Reims" biscuit mousse with red berries in juice and champagne sherbet; with coffee and
original chocolates, at Y23,000 per person plus a ten percent service charge. Service is
available during both lunch, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and dinner, from 5:30 p.m. to
