Great Chefs Of La "go Green, Go Organic"

National Kidney Foundation of Southern California Presents First Eco-Friendly Event with Chef of Honor Gino Angelini and Host Chef Govind Armstrong

WHAT:
The 22nd Annual Great Chefs of Los Angeles brings together the city's most celebrated chefs, tastemakers and vintners for an afternoon of great food, wine, music and auctions to benefit the National Kidney Foundation of Southern California. This year's "Go Green, Go Organic" theme promotes eco-friendly and recyclable products as well as conscious living and sustainability, and emphasizes organic foodstuffs throughout the event.

WHO:
Honorary Chairs and George and Ann Lopez host the afternoon's festivities. Host Chef Govind Armstrong of 8 oz. and Table 8 and Chef of Honor Gino Angelini of Angelini Osteria and La Terza lead a stellar lineup of top toques from around town, with entertainment provided by DJ Mike Palmieri. GO GREEN:
A "Get Hip Get Green" Lounge will feature the trendy Get Hip Get Green's new line of eco-friendly bean bags, as well as organic chocolate fountains by Chocolate Covered Company, environmentally friendly lounge furniture provided by Girari Sustainable Furnishing and insightful reading from Whole Life Times. ABSOLUT Los Angeles vodka, a portion of whose proceeds benefit Green Way, will pour cocktails in the ABSOLUT Los Angeles Green Lounge.

Guests will use biodegradable utensils by Sysco's Eco Company line, and separate recycling units will be available throughout the event. Non-alcoholic beverages are available from Guayaki, Pom Wonderful and Source Water, all companies with an organic focus.

The fashionable line of Get Hip Get Green gift bags will be filled with more than 40 eco-friendly and organic items, including gifts from Get Hip Get Green, Sencha Naturals, Ambassador Organics, LaRocca Skincare, Bellina Estates, Alterna, Two Leaves and A Bud Tea Company, Guayaki, Source Water USA, Helen's Foods, OPI and more.
