Green Tables: The Ldei Civic Agriculture & Garden Initiative

Les Dames d'Escoffier (www.ldei.org), the philanthropic organization of leading women in culinary, hospitality and fine beverage announces a new initiative to focus members' considerable culinary might in the areas of food, health and environmental stewardship. Green Tables: the LDEI Civic Agriculture & Garden Initiative (www.greentables.org) encompasses the culinary wattage of such industry stars as Alice Waters, Abby Mandel, Marion Nestle -- even the beloved late Julia Child was a Dame. The focus? Members in the 26 LDEI Chapter communities across U.S. and Canada - 1200-plus women - will collaborate with initiatives that focus on garden/farm to table awareness. Dames from Boston to Miami to Kansas City to Vancouver will philanthropically support and assist community gardening with food, school gardens, farmers' market efforts and other local agriculture initiatives (e.g. Chef's Collaborative, Slow Food, etc. and beyond) with their amazing media and consumer-savvy reach!
