Off The Grid Announces The March 23 Return Of Fort Mason Market And Plans For New Markets Throughout The Bay Area

WHAT: Off the Grid: San Francisco announces the March 23, 2012 reopening of its Off the Grid: Fort Mason Center market as well as the addition of four new San Francisco markets throughout March and April. The Fort Mason Center market, the location of the first-ever Off the Grid gathering, returns with new amenities including the addition of a beer garden and six more participating vendors a week all contained in a space 20-percent larger than last season. The majority of food items sold will remain influenced by Latin and Asian flavors. Each vendor participating in Off the Grid: Fort Mason Center this season will also feature an exclusive Fort Mason Center item available only at the Friday night market. The reopening of this market brings the grand total of Off the Grid gatherings to 12 with plans to double that number by the end of 2012.

Off the Grid began in June 2010 with the simple idea that grouping Street Food vendors together would create an experience that would allow neighbors to connect with friends, and families to reconnect with each other. Since then Off the Grid has worked hard to develop markets that are both located in urban cores of cities, and that utilize spaces that are not easily activated effectively throughout the day. Currently Off the Grid operates 12 weekly markets in the greater Bay Area, and works with nearly 100 vendors weekly. At its core, Off the Grid believes in the power of a shared food experience to connect communities.
