Hakubai Restaurant Introduces Age-old Culinary Philosophy, Kenbi, Known To Be Heart Healthy, Prevent Diseases And Slow The Aging Process
As more and more Americans struggle with weight and heart issues there is a growing movement within the country to promote the incorporation of naturally grown products into daily diets, as they are proven to have many health benefits. Most recently, awareness has been raised of another high-risk group, women, most susceptible to heart disease due to symptoms that often go unnoticed. As part of a national campaign to educate this high risk group and reduce the risk of heart attacks, medical professionals recommend recognizing the warning signs of a heart attack, exercise and a healthy diet of fresh and natural foods. Research has shown that naturally grown products feature health benefits such as lower cholesterol and a healthy heart.
Incorporating naturally grown foods into daily diet is an age-old practice for the Japanese who for thousands of years have included local, natural, and seasonal ingredients into their diets to take advantage of the healthful benefits. The Kitano New York Hotel's Hakubai Restaurant has unveiled a new Kenbi menu based upon Japanese dietary customs that includes health-focused, lunch and dinner, menus rich in minerals and nutrients. The appetizers, entrees, and deserts featured in both menus consist of ingredients known to prevent degenerative diseases and slow down the natural aging process.
The menu, created by Hakubai's Executive Chef Yukihiro Sato, features classic Japanese ingredients known to promote a healthy heart. Two key healthful Kenbi menu items include Snapping Turtle Soup and Sashimi Salad, which are good sources of B12, and boiled green vegetables and Shitake Mushroom with fish broth, known to promote blood circulation, lower cholesterol levels, and is as an excellent source of protein, carotene, vitamins A, B1, C and E, minerals and calcium. The menu also offers Japanese mushrooms, which are an excellent source of potassium and are known to lower blood pressure and keep the heart healthy. The primary entre features foods rich in mineral and irons while the first appetizer promotes healthy skin, increases blood circulation, collagen and levels of DHA, an omega-3 fat that can prevent heart attack and dementia. The second appetizer is rich in various nutrient supplements and the dessert encourages healthy digestion with Vitamin C.
