Harvest In The Square 9th Annual Celebration Thursday, September 23
TASTING EVENT WITH 45 OF
THE BEST NEIGHBORHOOD RESTAURANTS
On Thursday, September 23, New York City's Harvest In The Square, presented by Union Square Partnership, will showcase more than 45 top-rated restaurants in the Union Square neighborhood. The sunset event once again presents the opportunity for locals and visitors alike to savor the neighborhoods most delectable choices all under one tent in Union Square Park, rain or shine!
Old favorites like Patria, Union Square Cafe, and Gotham Bar & Grill will be joined by new neighborhood restaurants including Casa Mono & Bar Jamon, MetroCafe & Wine Bar, and Mandler's Sausage Company will provide unlimited tastings of seasonal fare prepared with fresh farm produce from the Union Square Greenmarket Farmers Market, paired with wines from Long Island, New York state and around the globe and New York microbrews. General admission to the event is $85.00 per person advance purchase (call Telecharge 212-234-6200 or www.telecharge.com), and $95.00 per person at the door (cash only).
Andrew DiCataldo, chef at Patria, Pipa and Lucy Mexican Barbeque, and this years restaurant chair said Patria has participated at every Harvest In The Square and this year's event continues the fabulous neighborhood tradition of great food and drink while raising funds for improvements to Union Square Park.
Harvest In The Square is a fundraiser benefiting Union Square Partnerships initiatives to improve and beautify Union Square Park. Proceeds from Harvest In The Square 2004 will be used to kick off a multi-million dollar Capital Campaign for the Redevelopment of Union Square Parks North End. This exciting public/private partnership initiative will help the neighborhood realize its goal of a glorious northern gateway to the park, which will include expanded playgrounds, a year-round concession and enhancements to the Greenmarket plaza.
Harvest in the Square provides the perfect opportunity to showcase our neighborhoods many culinary delights, while also raising money for important neighborhood improvements, said Karen H. Shaw, Executive Director of the Partnership. This year is particularly exciting proceeds from Harvest In The Square 2004 will be bring the community closer to our goal of creating a beautiful northern gateway to the park.
