Historic Hotel in Downtown Berkeley to Donate $1 of Every Room Night to the American Red Cross

(Berkeley, CA - November 8, 2012) - This holiday season, the Hotel Shattuck Plaza, located adjacent to BART in the heart of downtown Berkeley and FIVE, a Modern American Bistro & Bar, are spreading holiday cheer with its "Stay Here, Shop There" package and other fun holiday offerings. Berkeley is the perfect spot to escape the hustle and bustle of the city but close enough for easy access via BART to shopping, plays and more. FIVE Restaurant also announced the details and menus for Thanksgiving and the Christmas Day brunch buffet.

From December 1 - December 31, 2012, Hotel Shattuck Plaza will donate $1 of every December room night (when booked between now and December 31, 2012) and $10 per holiday package to the American Red Cross. Also, throughout the month of December, Hotel Shattuck Plaza and FIVE will be offering the following surprises and treats for guests:

Enjoy complimentary cider in the lobby everyday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. throughout the month of December. While sipping on cider, guests can also enjoy the train that will be circling around the holiday tree. Trains previously traveled along Shattuck Avenue and this is a way to bring that back and acknowledge the history of the hotel and area.

On Tuesday, December 4, join Hotel Shattuck Plaza for their first annual "Tree Lighting" ceremony at 5:30 PM. Lite bites, cider and mulled wine will be passed around for the celebration.

The "Stay Here, Shop There" package is available during selected dates from now through early January. Rates start from $199 per night and will vary by date. Travelers and locals alike can book the package on the website here. Details include:
