Hyatt Regency Orange County Unveils Two New Restaurants In Strikingly Renovated 17-story Atrium Lobby
After a $25 million renovation, Hyatt Regency Orange County, is pleased to announce the launch of two new restaurants, TusCA Restaurant and OC Brewhouse. Both establishments, located in the stunning 17-story atrium lobby, offer distinctly different but equally fresh approaches to casual upscale dining in Orange County, providing unexpected options for hotel guests and enticing new dining adventures for residents in the local communities of Garden Grove, Anaheim and Orange. With doors just opened in April 2010, both restaurants are quickly gaining reputations as local gathering spots for epicureans and beer aficionados alike. "We are so pleased to offer our guests and neighbors such high quality new dining experiences," said Kevin Kennedy, general manager of Hyatt Regency Orange County. "The top to bottom renovation of this hotel has allowed us to employ a completely fresh approach and look in all regards and we look forward to both TusCA and OCB becoming vital parts of this community."
TusCA, a Californian-Tuscan hybrid blending local ingredients, seasonal cooking and traditional recipes, is led by native Northern Italian, Chef Laura De Martin. With a menu rich in the foods of her homeland, TusCA features the authentic simplicity of rustic Italian cooking. Combining a modern and airy space with the warm colors and textures of the California and Tuscan countryside, the restaurant manages to be both crisp and welcoming. Soft greens, browns and yellows mingle with canopied tables, stone paths and striking bubble chandeliers. Communal tables, cozy booths and intimate corners provide ideal settings for group gatherings, family dinners, business meetings and special dates. The grand pizza oven is a show-stopper, visible from many seats and worth the view to see fresh pizzas, baked pastas and more pulled out bubbling hot. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, TusCA offers a well-edited menu of classic dishes enhanced with California flair. At breakfast, an American style buffet offers eggs, fruit, pastries and more, while made to order options include a variety of fritattas, a breakfast Panini, Belgian waffles, omelets and pancakes. The lunchtime menu features a range of salads, Paninis, pizzas and pastas including the Salmon Salad with mixed greens, red onion, ricotta and lemon-mustard dressing, a TusCAn Pizza with marinated artichoke, roasted garlic, olives and mozzarella, the Hot Pressed Prosciutto with fig, fontina and arugula, and Spinach-Ricotta Gnocchi with brown butter, sage and cheese vellutata. Breakfast prices range from $7 to $17, and $17 per person for the buffet. Lunch ranges from $6 to $14.
At dinner, Chef Laura waves her culinary flag high. Primi Piatti (first plates) feature Manila Clams with garlic, pancetta and white wine; and Crostini Toscana with caponata and tomato. Thin crust, freshly baked pizzas include the Prosciutto with asparagus, tomato, mozzarella and egg; and the classic Margherita, exquisitely simple with fresh tomato, mozzarella and basil. Satisfying pastas such as Short Rib Bolognese with pappardelle pasta and roasted garlic, or Spaghetti alla Vangole with clams, pancetta and garlic are offered alongside such indulgent Secondi Piatti (entrees) as Pork Chop in Agro Dolce with caponata and roasted lemon; Seared Halibut with thyme, fennel and orange salad; and Lemon Rosemary Roasted Chicken with polenta and sauted funghi. Decadent desserts such as Chocolate Caramel Tart; Vanilla Panna Cotta with seasonal fruit; and Affogato al Cioccolato - vanilla gelato topped with espresso and chocolate, round out the meal. Prices range from $6 to $24. A selection of fine Italian and California wines served by the quartino or bottle complement each dish; and Italian sodas lend both style and flavor.
