Il Buco Serves An Earth Day Lunch Prix Fixe With 100% Of Its Proceeds Going To The We Campaign - A Project Of The Alliance For Climate Protection
Being highly committed to environmental awareness and a strong supporter of the local and sustainable agriculture movement, il Buco will honor Earth Day by offering a special $30 three course prix fixe lunch menu for the week of Tuesday, April 22 through Saturday, April 27. All (100%) prix fixe proceeds will go to the We Campaign - a Project of The Alliance for Climate Protection, founded by former Vice President Al Gore, whose aim is to halt global warming (more info below).
With hopes to make this an annual fund-raiser with mostly prix fixe sales, il Buco will offer it's world renowned Porchetta Panino, its most popular dish.
100% of the $30 menu price will go to ending global warming.

il Buco restaurant; owned by Independent Filmmaker Donna Lennard and her Umbrian partner, Alberto Avalle, is a New York institution known for its Mediterranean cuisine celebrating the natural power of prime ingredients. Originally an antique shop, il Buco provides a warm, romantic atmosphere in which to enjoy the simple flavorful combinations of Executive Chef, Ignacio Mattos paired with the extensive boutique wine collection of Sommelier Roberto Paris. il Buco's cuisine continues in its dedication to Italy as well as the Iberian Peninsula. il Buco has used only sustainable and local agriculture since its opening almost 14 years ago.
Executive Chef Ignacio Mattos is only 28 years old. He is a prot�g� of the renowned South American Chef, Francis Mallman who he started cooking with at age 18. He has worked with Alice Waters at Chez Panisse, Spain's Michelin three-starred Mart�n Berasategui, with Judy Rodgers at Zuni Cafe, and is currently the Executive Chef of il Buco, a loved NYC restaurant and establishment that has been open for almost 14 years. Ignacio has had the honor of cooking at the James Beard Foundation, is nominated for the Star Chefs 2008 Rising Star Award and has taught cooking classes with the Institute of Culinary Education (ICE) and The New School.
