About Mikey Roe:
Mikey Roe was born in Columbia, South Carolina, but he spent most of his childhood growing up in Dallas, Texas. He acquired a great love of all types of food early on in his life through both of his grandmothers' influences - one who introduced him to America's Southern home cooking and the other to Italy's cornucopia of good eats. This diverse mix of cuisine allowed him to experience two food-obsessed cultures at a young age.
As an all-state wrestler and football player, food became an important part of his training. Traveling all around the country for tournaments was the beginning of Mikey Roe's journey to find new and exciting eats. After high school, Roe headed out west to Arizona State University and then on to The Brooks Institute of Photography and Film in Santa Barbara. Wherever Roe went, his passion for food followed. When he worked in the restaurants of the world famous "Bacara Resort" in Santa Barbara to pay his way through school, the experience inspired him to follow the breadcrumbs all around the world to find the most exotic cuisines.
After globetrotting through Asia, Europe, South America and Australia, and guiding actors, musicians and athletes on where to find each city's best eats, he soon became known f
