Its Time To Agozar! Good Times Await At Noho's Festive Cuban Restaurant/lounge
When you call your restaurant a name that translates to a good time, you are definitely destined to create an ambience worthy of fun and cheer. And thats exactly what first-time restaurateurs and siblings, Gerardo Perez and Diana Mastrodimos, had in mind when they ventured into opening Agozar! (324 Bowery, 212.677.6773), an inviting, neighborhood restaurant/lounge serving innovative Cuban Cuisine. From its appetizing menu, specialty cocktails, and nightly live music specials, Agozar! simply stands for its name, being recognized as NoHos ultimate destination for flavorful food in a lively and comfortable setting.
Originally slated as a tapas restaurant, Agozar! has revamped its menu, creating a more comprehensive selection of appetizers and larger plates of Cuban inspired dishes. Diners can start with an original appetizer such as Croquetas agozar!, Pollo Empanadas and La Bola, a delicious beef filled potato served with caramelized plantains and sofrito. Traditional tapas are also available including Cerdo y Maduros (grilled pork), Chorizo (grilled Spanish sausage), and for those who have a hard time to choosing, Agozar! serves an incredible Tapas Platter with samplings of all five tapas dishes. For the main course, there is something for everyone, from classic Cuban entrees such as Ropa Vieja, to more inventive dishes such as Cherna y Coco (coconut crusted grouper) and Camarones y Moros & Cristianos (tiger prawns with chorizo, baked rice and beans). Agozar! offers sensational side dishes including Tostones (golden crisp green plantains) and Maduros (caramelized sweet plantains), and for dessert, the choices range from El Perfecto, a luscious vanilla flan custard with caramel, to El Chocolate and a selection of exotic Sorbets.
The dicor at Agozars is as vibrant as the menu. The L-shaped space is at once colorful and cozy with bold hues of gold, moss and red, tamed by soft, dim lighting. Agozar!s upbeat, yet romantic vive make it the perfect location for intimate dining as well as party gatherings, socializing and good times. Guests can whet their appetites with Agozar Especialidades such as its flavored Mojitos, Caipirinhas and Pasion de agozar!, or choose from its selection of martinis, beers and wines. Pitchers of sangria and mojitos are available for larger parties to share. For those chicos and chicas who prefer late night lounging, Agozar! transforms into a downtown chic bar/lounge on the weekends (Thursdays to Sundays), inviting patrons to mingle at the angled bar and relax in the back room on its cozy couches. Agozar! also proudly features live music three nights a week, including hot Brazilian music on Sundays, cool Cuban music on Tuesdays, and an in-house DJ on Saturdays pulsating world beats, Latin grooves and top 40 over the sound system.
Open six days a week for dinner, Agozar! offers diners the opportunity to experience a genuine taste of Cuba in the trendy Lower East Side of NYC. Agozar!s full menu can be viewed online at www.Agozarnyc.com. Reservations can be secured by calling 212.677.6773 or at www.OpenTable.com.
