Johnson & Wales Hosts Homecoming Weekend
Johnson & Wales University's Providence Campus hosts its annual Homecoming Weekend on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 8 and 9. Graduates from all classes are invited to attend, along with their friends and family.
This year's theme is "Wildcat Safari," and kicks off with "The Parade of the Jungle," a lively safari-inspired parade of student groups, sororities, fraternities, alumni and residence halls that will feature floats and dancing. It gets underway on Saturday, Oct. 8 at the Harborside Campus at 11:00 a.m.
Then it's the delicious barbeque, "Tastes of the Wild" at noon with plenty of savory grilled items to choose from along with entertainment and novelties. Tickets are required and are $15 per person, $8 for children under 12.
On Saturday night, The Westin Hotel, in downtown Providence, is the location for the "safari style," All Class Reunion from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. This is where alumni convene to celebrate their days on-campus and reminisce with fellow alumni, faculty and administration. Tickets are required and are $35 per person.
On Sunday, the excitement goes off-campus when celebrants, their friends and families visit Six Flags New England, Springfield, Mass. Tickets, which are $31 per person, include park admission, a free parking pass and a two-hour all-you-can-eat lunch buffet.
